Church security tips for leaders and members

Simon Osamoh is a renowned security consultant with years of experience in helping churches and other religious institutions to improve their security measures. He has worked with various churches, helping them to identify potential security risks and develop practical solutions to enhance the safety of their congregants. In this interview, Simon shares church security tips that every house of worship can use.

Born and raised in England, Simon is the founder and CEO of Kingswood Security Consulting. He first moved to the United States to Head Counter Terrorism at Mall of America, Minnesota. The largest shopping and entertainment complex in North America where he oversaw counterterrorism and the internationally recognized behavior threat assessment program. He quickly established himself as one of the country’s leading experts on security at soft targets where his work gained national media attention.

He spent 14 years as a Detective in England working serious and organized crime. One of his notable cases includes working with the British Security Services during the investigation of the “liquid bomb terrorism plot” against the U.S.A. in 2006, which changed aviation security worldwide.

He is the author of three books, 10 Powerful Strategies for Conflict De-Escalation, Securing Church Operations, and Church Safety Responding to Suspicious Behavior. Simon’s work on conversational interviewing is featured in the award-winning book.

In this interview, Simon will share his insights into the challenges facing churches when it comes to security, and the steps that houses of worship can take to ensure the safety of their members. He will discuss the importance of creating a culture of awareness and vigilance, training staff and volunteers, and implementing effective security measures such as access control, surveillance systems, and emergency response plans.

We'll also explore some of the common misconceptions about church security, including the belief that places of worship are inherently safe and don't require special security measures. Joe will dispel these myths and provide practical advice for churches looking to improve their security posture.

Whether you're a member of a church community, a religious leader, or simply interested in the topic of security, this interview is a must-listen.
