High Speed Daddy EDC Fanny Pack Crossbody Bag: In-Depth Review

Review of High Speed Daddy EDC Fanny Pack Crossbody Bag

I’ve been a fan of the idea of a crossbody bag for a while, but I’ll admit—I hesitated when it came time to actually use one. I finally dipped my toes in at Universal Studios (where a crossbody is often recommended for the rides) by using a generic Amazon bag. It worked well enough, but didn’t exactly inspire me to keep wearing one after my vacation ended.

So when Craig at High Speed Daddy announced his new EDC Fanny Pack Crossbody Bag, I was genuinely excited to see if it could convert me into a daily user. Craig has sent me various pieces of High Speed Daddy gear over the years—from the Tactical Diaper Bag to their IFAK Pouch and the Woobie blanket—and I’ve always been impressed by their well thought out design and quality. Let’s just say, the new EDC Fanny Pack Crossbody Bag continues that trend.

I was sent this crossbody bag to test and keep in exchange for a fair review. I am also an affiliate of High Speed Daddy and you can use my code SECUREDAD to get 10% off your entire order at HighSpeedDaddy.com.

First Impressions and Materials

Right out of the box, the quality of the materials stood out. I chose the gray color, and it fit nicely with just about everything I wore during my testing period. The exterior fabric is heavy-duty, high-strength, and both scratch and tear-resistant. It strikes a perfect balance: substantial enough to handle daily abuse, but low-profile enough that it doesn’t scream “tactical” to the world around me. In fact, it’s quite discreet. If you’re someone who carries concealed or just wants a secure place to stash important items, the bag doesn’t telegraph that at all, which I appreciate.

The back of the bag is lined with neoprene—something I honestly missed when I looked at it online. This addition makes a world of difference in comfort and usability. The neoprene adds grip and cushion, so whether I wore it around my waist or slung it over my shoulder, it stayed put without rubbing me the wrong way. It also didn’t cause any damage to my shirts or jacket, though I don’t know what everyday, prolonged use would do.

Zippers and Accessibility

I have to talk about the zippers. High Speed Daddy has always impressed me with their zippers—starting with their Tactical Diaper Bag—and this EDC Fanny Pack Crossbody is no exception. The zippers glide open so easily, you can do it with a single finger, which is actually more important than you might think.

When you’re wearing a bag crossbody-style, you often access it at odd angles, maybe with one hand busy. Having zippers that don’t fight you is a huge plus. It’s one of those small details that makes using this bag feel effortless.

Pockets and Organization

Let’s break it down compartment by compartment:

Front Pocket: The front-most pocket is great for flat items: your wallet, a passport, tickets, or any small documents you need on the go. Quick access, straightforward, and roomy enough for essentials.

Main Compartment: This is where the bag shines. Inside, you’ll find multiple mini-compartments and a really nice organizational layout. There’s a key clip for important items you might frequently grab—like keys or a work badge—so you can avoid fishing around at the bottom. I love the interior webbing that helps keep things tidy.

I even discovered a couple of small front pockets inside after a few days of use—bonus storage I hadn’t initially noticed. At the very back of the main compartment, a zippered section gives you a secure spot for medications or other valuables. Another clever touch is the elastic strap inside the lid. Perfect for holding a flashlight, a small radio, or even your wallet if you want it tucked away but still accessible.

Back Pocket (Concealed Compartment): This is the “wow” factor for me. The back pocket fully opens up and reveals a Velcro-backed area where you can attach the included Velcro holster or any compatible accessory. If you’re interested in concealed carry, this is a built-in solution. If not, it’s equally useful for a tourniquet, a small radio (I tested it with a Baofeng UV9R Pro), or other gear that you want secured and easy to access.

What’s great is that while the compartment opens wide, it doesn’t flop all the way open thanks to a clever design catch. This detail prevents your stuff from spilling out, and mirrors the thoughtful design found in High Speed Daddy’s Individual First Aid Kit. It’s subtle, but it saves you from potential hassle and embarrassment.

Comfort and Fit

Wearing the bag was comfortable and intuitive. The buckle is large and easy to operate, making it simple to adjust around your waist or shoulder. The only design tweak I’d suggest is moving the buckle closer to the bag. Right now, it sits at the furthest point on the belt. If it were positioned nearer to the main body, it would be simpler to release and remove from a shoulder carry position without having to lift it over your head. It’s a minor objection, and honestly, this is something you might encounter with many crossbody bags, but it’s worth noting.

Practical Usage and Durability

This bag fits seamlessly into daily life. I carried a small first aid kit, tissues, keys, my phone, power bank, and a few other essentials for a family trip. The size is spot-on: not too large to be awkward, but not too small to limit what you can carry. It’s compact, comfortable, and the low-profile aesthetic makes it feel appropriate for almost any setting—family outings, theme parks, errands around town, or even everyday commuting.

Value and Recommendation

After using this bag for the review period, I’m still using it. That’s the strongest endorsement I can give. It’s become a trusted part of my daily load out. Given its thoughtful design, premium materials, and smart organization, the High Speed Daddy EDC Fanny Pack Crossbody Bag is absolutely worth the investment.

It’s also a wonderful gift idea. Whether it’s for Father’s Day, Christmas, a birthday, or just because—this bag will be appreciated by anyone who values quality, function, and a bit of tactical flair without being overly flashy.

Final Thoughts: High Speed Daddy EDC Fanny Pack Crossbody Bag

Overall, this bag won me over. I went from being hesitant about crossbody bags to confidently rocking this one. High Speed Daddy nailed it again: a versatile, well-made product that feels like it was designed by someone who understands what real people need from their gear. I highly recommend it.
